Unit Specifics:
- Number of Beds : 29
- Patient Ratios : 1:4 ideally, currently running 1:5
- Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : UC and PCT
- Type of equipment : Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn VS machines, bladder scan, vein finder.
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week
- Floating policy: All staff float to areas of their competencies
- Patient Experience requirements: Must provide safe, high quality and compassionate care

Advanced skills needed: ACLS, familiar with cardiac drip and insulin drips

- VS every 4 hours (may be more frequent based on patient condition)
- Blood glucose checks as ordered
- Required documentation/assessment every shift

- Staff in PCU are very cohesive, they work well as a team. Looking for candidate who works well with others. Staff self-schedule, work with candidates, especially if they like their night shifts 3 in a row.
