Weekend Rotation 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (on a 6-week schedule)
Holiday Requirements work one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after 12/24 or 12/25 12/31 or 1/1)
Floating Requirements All med surg / telemetry units

Position Summary
Seeking an experienced MedSurg/Telemetry RN to provide care for adult inpatient populations with acute and chronic medical conditions. Travelers will float across Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed.
Schedule
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Hours: 1900–0700
- Guaranteed: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Rotation: 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- On-Call: None
Unit Details
- Med/Surg units range from 20–36 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–6
- First-time travelers accepted
- Minimum experience required: 2 years MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
Patient Population
Common diagnoses include:
- Acute and chronic medical conditions
- Diabetes, hypertension, infections, electrolyte imbalances
- CHF, atrial fibrillation, post-cardiac cath patients
- General surgery, orthopedic, and trauma post-op patients
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Travelers must pass EKG competency during onboarding
- Minimum 6 months EPIC experience required
- Med/Surg certification preferred

- Peripheral IV starts and IV maintenance

Telemetry Skills
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Post-cath patient care
- TR band management
- Groin site management (no sheath pulls)
Drip Experience
Must have experience with:
- Insulin
- Heparin
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Milrinone
- Digoxin
- Nicardipine
May titrate drips for heart rate but not blood pressure.

- CNA support available
- Unit Secretary coverage: 7a–11p
- Charge nurse support
- PICC team available
- Resource/discharge nurses available
- RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist coverage 24/7
- Central telemetry monitoring
Equipment & Technology

Floating Requirements
- Travelers function within the float pool
- Required to float to all Med/Surg & Telemetry units
- May float to ED holds as needed

- 1 day hospital orientation education modules
- 2 days department orientation
