Submission Requirements: Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years Individual unit requirements listed in pulse apply. Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email We are only permitted to submit 2 candidates per opening, if the position is at max, we will hold on to the submission if a spot opens up ANY BACKGROUND HITS NEED TO BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION. Unit OR (Cost Center 72) # Suites 9 ORs 1 procedure room and 1 hybrid Average # of cases per day 35-45 cases Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) "RN's: BLS, ACLS, & (PALS- preferred) OR Tech's: BLS is Required. CST is only preferred" Common Cases - Open 24/7: General, ENT, eyes, ortho. robotics Davinci, and Rosa- ortho (a lot of neuro spine, burr holes, VP shunts, ventrics, lamis, discectomy, fusions, TLIF, ALIF, nerve stimulators total, joints, shoulders, hips & knees, ORIF, ex fix, scopes, sports med, podiatry, hands, open fractures), trauma, Vascular: AV fistulas, carotids, angiograms, fem pops, BKA, no AAAs. Peds: dental and ENT mostly, rare ortho fractures. Emergent cases: appy, stabbings, cranis, etc.. All surgical cases except : CVOR, L&D cover C-sections" Experience or 'Must have' skills 2-3 Years of experience in the specialty is required, as well as 2-3 previous travel assignments. Ortho experience required. MUST have experience passing the arms in and out for Robotics. Must have EPIC" MUST have experience with all specialties for evening/ night shift, only RN overnight with 2 techs Scrubbing required - RN's This would be a PLUS not required Charge Nurse/House Supervisor "Yes 7a - 7p. They will circulate cases if needed (travelers rotate through charge- nights RN to be only RN with 2 techs, must be comfortable. " OR techs Yes EMR Epic Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "They have 8's, 10's, & 12's. Varied start times, primarily day/evening. No self-scheduling for travelers. They will allow block scheduling if it meets the needs of the unit. (the shift will be indicated in the job need) 7-530 and 7-3, 9-5, 11-7. and 3-11 currently 11-11" Weeknight/Call Requirements "One weeknight on-call 7p-7a (both RN and CST), rotation varies. 1 weekday call this 2 weeks M-Thursday (every night during the week and weekend 7p-7a, 7-11p" Weekend/Call Requirements One weekend 24 hours on-call 7a-7p per month (both RN and CST) Holiday/Call Requirements rotation as needed What is call response time? 30 minutes (if they are >30 minutes away & on call they would be required to stay ) Floating Requirements outpatient surgery Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs are provided for RN's & OR Techs Unit/Department specific orientation 3 Shifts/ 1 week Additional Notes "Do not have any aids or house-keeping - techs are responsibility for turning over rooms) OR staff is almost all travelers" Additional Notes "M-F 7-330 if they have minimal experience in 1 service line, entertain, facility support/teach a service line if willing to learn or get a refresher 11-11, 3-11 and nights have to have it all experience" Notes updated on 5/27/2026 (MS)
