Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Tech for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab of a 304-bed acute care hospital
- 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM; shift end may vary as staff remain until procedures are complete
- 4 to 5 labs run per day with 2 CVTs per lab; approximately 20 cases per day across the department
- On-call required: one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month, plus one call shift and one evening shift per week; call requirements may change based on staffing needs
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Charting via Epic
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- Proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitoring required
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA certifications only)
- ARRT or RCIS certification required (candidates actively in process will be considered)
- South Carolina SCRQSA license required; candidates with a pending license may be considered, but must be fully licensed prior to start
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- A personal radiation dosimetry badge is required and must be provided by the candidate or agency — the facility does not provide radiation badges to travelers
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position, depending on qualifications
- Hospital-issued scrubs are provided for the Cath Lab
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- Candidates who are or have been permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
- Free parking is available via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garages are accessible but have limited clearance for oversized vehicles
