X-Ray Technologist (Radiology Technician)
Location: Akron Campus – Akron, OH

Contract Dates: July 12, 2026 – October 10, 2026
Shift: Nights | 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend required
Start Date: July 5 or July 12 preferred (No August start dates)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to join the Diagnostic Radiology team at Summa Health's Akron Campus. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled radiologic technologist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center. The selected candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Accurately position patients and operate radiographic equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout all imaging procedures.
- Maintain radiation safety standards and follow all hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize hospital and radiology information systems for documentation and image management.
- Assist with select CT procedures as appropriate based on training and competency.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain imaging equipment and report equipment concerns promptly.
- Respond efficiently in a busy Level I Trauma environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current Ohio Radiographer License.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of recent X-Ray experience.
- Required: Previous experience working in a Level I Trauma Hospital.
- Experience performing additional radiology procedures, including select CT procedures, is preferred.
- Strong communication, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to safely lift, transfer, and position patients as required.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT Certification
- Ohio Radiographer License
- BLS (AHA)
