Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse position in Iron River, Michigan. This role involves providing general nursing care to primarily geriatric patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, and diabetes. The assignment requires flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts on a 25-bed Med/Surg unit, with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:6. Candidates with both Med/Surg and Emergency Department experience are highly preferred, and the ability to work across multiple departments is ideal.
Job Details:
- Include Schedule: Rotating shift with variable start and end times from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Include Required Qualifications: Current Michigan Registered Nurse license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification, and a minimum of 2+ years of Med/Surg experience. Emergency Department experience is preferred but not required; ICU experience is not required.
- Include Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Include Float: Float to Emergency Department within competency required.
- Include Additional Information: Contract duration of 13 weeks starting on 08/10/2026 with guaranteed hours biweekly totaling 72 hours, with overtime after 80 hours worked in a second week. The unit operates with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6 and requires scrubs of any color. During flu season, candidates must wear masks if declining flu and COVID vaccinations. Candidates experienced with Epic EMR, CareScape patient monitors, and Pyxis are preferred.
