Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Registered Nurse position in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within the cardiac catheterization lab setting, focusing on patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position is designed to support procedural and post-procedural patient needs, ensuring safety and quality throughout patient care.
Job Details:
- Perform patient assessments reflecting physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive needs, and functional abilities through the systematic collection and review of patient-specific data and communicate assessments appropriately.
- Plans and prioritizes care based on the assessment, evaluates patient progress, and revises care to attain expected outcomes. Includes involving patients and families in planning care and evaluating programs and outcomes.
- Demonstrates clinical competencies in cardiac catheterization procedures as described in departmental performance standards.
- Assess patient and family learning needs, plans and provides education (involving other disciplines as needed), and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching in achieving desired outcomes.
- Identifies and responds appropriately to ethical issues in patient care; provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights. Serves as a resource to others in addressing ethical dilemmas in patient care.
- Initiates collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinates multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
- Acts as a patient advocate.
- Provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights. Identifies resources to meet unique patient needs and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, patient safety, and quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, with call requirements to be discussed during the interview.
This is an 8-week contract.
May be asked to float to cover Cath/EP and possibly TEE/CVs. If covering TEE/CVs, responsibilities include intra-procedure documentation timeout, procedure tracking, and circulating the room for minor needs.
Skills & Certifications:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing for ongoing patient care.

- Constant interaction with patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina or holds a current multi-state license via the NCSBN Compact and is not a permanent resident of SC.
- Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Card.
- ACLS certification is required for this position.
