Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in Hobbs, New Mexico. This role involves providing perioperative care and assisting in surgical procedures within a Short Term Acute Care facility. The position may require float between units, on-call responsibilities, and working during selected holidays, with a focus on general, gynecology, and orthopedic surgeries.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license must be in hand at submission), at least 1 year of experience in Operating Room nursing, experience with patient ratios, charting systems (Epic preferred), and surgical skills including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, blood and blood products administration, ambulatory OR procedures, amputations, orthopedic surgeries, and general surgical procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II, community hospital experience, and specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be flexible regarding float between units and on-call duties (1-2 weekdays and 1-2 weekends per month). Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays. The assignment is with a Short Term Acute Care facility with 61 beds, offering free parking, interdisciplinary support, and a high volume of diverse surgical cases.
