ravel Med Surg/Observation RN – Cardiac Observation
Join a fast-paced 21-bed Med Surg/Cardiac Observation Unit providing care for cardiac observation and medical-surgical patients. This assignment is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses who are comfortable managing cardiac medications and caring for post-procedure patients.
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour Days or Nights (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Contract: Travel RN
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to other inpatient units based on patient care needs while remaining within your scope of practice.
Requirements
- Active RN License
- BLS and ACLS required
- Telemetry experience required
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone infusions
- Experience with TR Bands is highly preferred

- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization
- Chest Pain Rule-Outs
- Heparin Drip Patients
- CHF
- COPD
- Pacemaker Patients
- Cardiac Arrhythmias
- General Medical-Surgical Patients
Unit Highlights
- 21-bed Cardiac Observation/Med Surg Unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Telemetry monitoring with monitor technicians
- Charge Nurse available 24/7
- Certified Nursing Assistants support patient care
Clinical Skills
Experience with:
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Cardiac observation patients
- Heparin therapy
- Set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone infusions
- Post-cardiac catheterization care
- TR Band management (preferred)
Additional medications may include Bumex and Lasix.
Schedule & Orientation
- 12-hour shifts
- One day of computer orientation
- One precepted clinical orientation shift before independent practice
