Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care or step down setting; must meet all certification requirements
- Patient Ratios & Duties: 1:4-5 nurse to patient ratio; responsible for titrating drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and insulin; available CNA support (fluctuating based on census); required to read and interpret telemonitors and strip readings; involves admitting and discharging patients within the same shift
- Unit Specifics: 33 beds, busy patient flow with complex diagnoses including sepsis, stroke, CHF, COVID-19, renal failure, COPD, DKA, multisystem failure; staff benefit from strong teamwork and positive engagement; transition to virtual nursing in June, increasing nurse-to-patient ratio to 1:6
- Schedule & Orientation: Classroom training during the first week, followed by two 12-hour shifts; float may include MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care; RN dress code navy blue; RTO of 7 days or less upfront; no additional RTO approvals after submission
- Additional Requirements: Must have a drivers license on submission; candidates outside 50 miles from the facility are ineligible; artificial nails prohibited; successful completion of open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher at orientation; float to other units allowed as needed
- Notes: Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude support success in this role. The position involves a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient discharge and admission within a 6-hour window.
