Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves providing specialized neonatal care to vulnerable newborns in a Level III NICU setting. Responsibilities include managing neonatal emergencies, performing bedside procedures, and supporting premature and critically ill infants from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age.
Job Details:
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia
- Schedule: Night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia, NICU experience of at least 3 years, valid certifications including STABLE, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators such as oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies; ability to perform bedside procedures including intubations, peripheral IV insertions, and septic workups
- Additional Information: Must be STABLE, NRP, and BLS certified, capable of managing vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies. Neonates are primarily admitted from labor and delivery, with patient conditions including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and others. Services include noninvasive nasal continuous positive airway pressure, mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide inhalation therapy, and bedside diagnostics.
