Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Registered Nurse located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role offers a dynamic schedule with rotating shifts and requires a dedicated professional with anesthesia experience.
Job Details
- Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN, diploma indicating an associates or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Education Requirements: Associates Degree or Certificate.
- Years of Experience: 3+ years of operating room and anesthesia experience required, prior travel experience preferred.
- Location Requirements: Must possess or be eligible for Wisconsin RN license.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours daily, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include assisting with heart surgeries, trauma cases, elective and general surgeries, helping with intubations, fiberoptic scopes, arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, Swan Ganz catheters, IV start-up, lab draws, medication pump setup, and operating Belmont and Cell Saver equipment. The role supports anesthesia providers mainly focusing on the cardiothoracic program.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be flexible, resilient, possess excellent work ethic, and be capable of managing change. A two-week orientation and ongoing training are part of the onboarding process. A vehicle is required due to response time needs. The position requires compliance with vaccination policies during flu season.
