Job Summary
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is based in Kansas City, MO. This role involves providing specialized care for cardiac telemetry patients on a fast-paced, family-like unit. The nurse will be responsible for patient care, interpretation of EKGs, post-cardiac procedural care, and administering IV medications.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Education Requirements: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in ICU or Cardiac Telemetry.
- Location Requirements: Kansas City, MO
- Years of Experience: 3 years minimum
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience. Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips. Experience with post cardiac procedural care, including Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, permanent Pacemaker placements. Proficiency in administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
- Additional Information: Must work full time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period. Floating policy allows nurses to be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency. The unit values treating every patient with courtesy and respect, involving patients in bedside shift reports, and effective communication.
- Responsibilities include performing IV insertions, NGT placement, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, Foley insertions, and documentation using Meditech system.
