Key Responsibilities
- Float across ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU units across two campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the ED
- Provide direct patient care for a diverse population including geriatric, orthopedic, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and post-CABG (day 3–4) patients
- Titrate and manage drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
- Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs support PCU and MedSurg Tele, but nurses must be able to read strips independently
- Manage respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High Flow as applicable to unit assignment
- Pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an ICU setting
- Comfort managing the majority of common titratable drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates who have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any associated network facility within the past year are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating across multiple unit types including ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU
- Familiarity with post-procedural cardiac care, including groin site management following cardiac catheterization
- Experience working with geriatric patient populations
- Flexibility with scheduling, including willingness to be placed on standby and called in during a 12-hour shift window
