Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-volume unit averaging 2,000 deliveries annually
- Manage care across low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) patient populations, including certified nurse midwife cases
- Utilize fetal monitoring skills and respond appropriately to changes in maternal and fetal status
- Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as required; may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
- Work within a unit featuring 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Document and manage patient care using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Epic experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Experience with both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patient populations
- Prior experience in Mother/Baby or NICU settings
