Contract | Days | Onsite | Self-scheduling with block holiday rotation; shifts available 0700–1930 and 1900–0730; 3 weekend shifts required per schedule period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed telemetry unit (all private rooms) with nurse-to-patient ratios of 4–5:1 on days and 4:1 on nights
- Interpret cardiac monitor strips and identify rhythm changes using GE Cardiac Monitors; remote monitor techs are available but RNs are responsible for strip interpretation
- Manage set-rate drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem (no titration required)
- Perform groin management and demonstrate EKG competency and cardiac monitoring skills
- Administer all breathing treatments; unit supports up to 6L O2, CPAP for non-obstructive sleep apnea only — no high-flow or BiPAP on unit
- Float within service line and overflow areas consistent with hired skillset and level of care; travelers float first
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Arizona
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- EKG certification required
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (maximum 2 attempts); failure to pass within 2 attempts results in a 6-month ineligibility period
- Must pass a PASS/FAIL Simulation Lab on Day 1 of orientation; failure results in a 6-month ineligibility period
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid Driver's License required at time of submittal
- Navy blue scrubs required; closed-toe shoes; no t-shirts
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with telemetry patient populations including renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health diagnoses
- Demonstrated cardiac monitoring experience and EKG competency
- Experience with groin management
- Familiarity with standby shift expectations consistent with regular staff requirements
