Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Neurology and Stroke unit
- Monitor and assess neurological and stroke patients, maintaining awareness of changes in condition
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:7, delivering safe and effective nursing care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic EMR
- Participate in required weekend rotations, floating assignments, and holiday coverage within the contract period
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission – no exceptions
- Epic EMR proficiency required – no exceptions
- Previous experience caring for Neurology and/or Stroke patients required
- Current BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong telemetry and EKG interpretation skills, including interval measurements, rhythm identification, and complex arrhythmia recognition
- Demonstrated ability to pass a telemetry competency assessment with a score of 80% or higher
- Comfort and flexibility with floating assignments across units
