Contract (13 Weeks) | 36 Hours/Week | 12-Hour Day Shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every Other Weekend & Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed Neuro ICU setting, managing a population that includes stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery patients
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and monitor ICP; familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring is required
- Assist with and manage basic bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
- Support bolt and drain bedside placements in collaboration with the neurosurgery team
- Float between the Neuro Critical Care ICU and Med/Surg ICU units, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- NIHSS certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with a Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background; strong neurological assessment skills required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment preferred
- Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change
