Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-hour shifts (three per week); must include at least one 0800–2030 shift per week. Available shift windows: 0500–1730, 0600–1830, 0700–1930, 0800–2030. Call required for weekends, hospital-recognized holidays, and weeknights as assigned; call hours 0600–1830 with a one-hour response time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 post-anesthesia recovery care as well as moderate sedation recovery in a 21-bed HVI Pre-Post unit
- Care for a diverse patient population including anesthesia recoveries and sedation cases for both outpatients and inpatients
- Support recovery of patients undergoing cardiac procedures including heart catheterizations, EP studies, pacemaker placements, ablations, and structural heart procedures (TAVRs, LAAOs, mitral clips, PFO closures)
- Assist with recovery of vascular and thoracic surgery patients including carotid endarterectomies, bypasses, AAA repairs, lung resections, and EGD procedures
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; maintain general awareness of respiratory therapy equipment while RT staff manage setup and operation
- Participate in on-call rotation covering weekends and hospital-recognized holidays with a one-hour response time
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with structural heart, vascular, and thoracic surgical patient populations
- Experience recovering ICU-level patients in a PACU setting
