Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for a full-time, ongoing locum tenens opportunity supporting a regional anesthesia program in Appleton and Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
This is a substantive hospital-based CRNA assignment for clinicians who want to maintain a broad anesthesia practice rather than work a narrow case lane. The program supports general surgery, cardiac, OB, orthopedics, neurosurgery, thoracic, vascular, ENT, GI, ophthalmology, urology and other specialty services within established acute-care hospital environments.
CRNAs practice within a medical supervision model alongside approximately 15 CRNAs and 6 anesthesiologists, with both daytime anesthesia care and scheduled call responsibilities.

Schedule
Primary Appleton coverage includes:
- 8-hour shifts
- Five shifts per week
- Approximately 40 hours per week
Regional Oshkosh coverage may include:
- 8-hour shift: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
- Late shift: approximately 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
- 12-hour shift: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Weeknight beeper call following designated 12-hour coverage
Providers supporting the broader regional program should be comfortable with a mix of standard daytime shifts, late coverage and scheduled call.
Call
Some call participation is required.
Current scheduling may include:
- At least one weekday call assignment
- 12-hour clinical shift followed by overnight beeper call
- Approximately 7:00 PM–7:00 AM beeper coverage
- Weekend call may include Friday, Saturday and Sunday coverage when scheduled
Exact schedules are coordinated through the anesthesia team.
Anesthesia Practice Environment
The regional anesthesia program operates with:
- Approximately 6 anesthesiologists
- Approximately 15 CRNAs
- Medical supervision model
- CRNAs providing anesthesia during daytime and call coverage
- Anesthesiologists available within the established care-team structure
- Physician personal performance of portions of cases when clinically appropriate
The Appleton hospital is publicly recognized as a Level III Trauma Center with advanced surgical, cardiovascular, women’s health and robotic-assisted services. The Oshkosh hospital likewise provides Level III Trauma care and advanced surgical, orthopedic and cardiovascular services.

Regional Practice Model
Qualified CRNAs may be cross-credentialed to support additional regional locations based on coverage needs.

Candidate Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
- Appropriate Wisconsin licensure
- Recent hospital-based anesthesia experience
- Comfortable with a broad surgical case mix
- Comfortable participating in scheduled beeper call
- AHA ACLS required
- 24 months of recent case logs required
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable practicing within a medical supervision model
