Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years experience and ARRT (CT) certification for a night shift assignment in a community hospital setting.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with inpatient, outpatient, and ER departments
- Serves adult ICU, and Level I/II trauma patients
- CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, CT arthrography, myelography, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
- Utilizes GE equipment; Toshiba experience preferred
- Cerner charting system required; Epic experience preferred
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Thursday-Saturday, 19:00-07:00 (variations may include 1930-0730 or 1800-0600)
- On-call requirement
- Weekend coverage not typical but possible if needed
- No floating to sister facilities required
- Guaranteed hours up to 40 per week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- ARRT (CT), ARRT (R), ARRT Advanced certification, and BLS required
- License required if applicable
- Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Community hospital experience required
- Skilled in IV starts, venipuncture, and contrast media preparation/administration
- Proficient in image display and post-processing, including 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and ROI measurement
- Experience with special procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, drainage, and vascular CTA required; brain perfusion and myelography preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety required
- Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
Additional Information
- Perform CT imaging across a wide range of procedures including abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, and musculoskeletal studies
- Support trauma, ED, inpatient, and outpatient CT services with a focus on complex cases
- Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population is required given the patient demographic
- Patient population presents complex social histories, including domestic violence cases
- Facility is a Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 152 staffed beds
- Scrubs may be any color or pattern except in L&D/OR, where scrubs are provided
- No cost for on-site parking
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
- Compact license accepted at time of submission, but an Alaska state license is required prior to start for acute specialties
- Previous travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning
- COVID vaccination acknowledgment required prior to start
