Job Requirements
- 1+ year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Travel nursing experience required
- Valid state or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with Meditech charting required
- Strong clinical skills in adult and geriatric medical-surgical nursing
- Ability to work night shift and rotate weekends as scheduled
- Willingness to float within the hospital as needed within scope
- Two professional supervisory references completed within the last two years
- Travelers must live outside the local radius requirement
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients in an acute care setting
- Complete comprehensive assessments, monitor patient condition, and respond to changes in status
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support respiratory care as indicated
- Care for a wide range of medical and post-operative diagnoses on the medical-surgical unit
- Document accurately in the EMR and maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with admissions, discharges, wound care, drains, chest tubes, and related unit procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support safe patient care
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining scope and quality of care
- Promote a safe, compassionate, and team-focused patient experience
