- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180-$2,290
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 for antepartum/postpartum, up to 1:4 in some areas
- Weekend Coverage: Required per unit needs
- Call: May be required per unit needs
- Floating: May float within the service line and potentially to a sister facility
- Charting System: Epic
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and FHM certifications
- Experience with Epic charting and electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong background in high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity maternal health environment
- Ability to support weekend, night, and on-call coverage as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, cerclage, D&C, and other obstetric procedures
- Support patients receiving magnesium, insulin, and Pitocin therapy
- Perform fetal monitoring, interpret tracings, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective patient care
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols and safety standards
- Adapt to floating assignments within the service line as needed
