Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Clinical Unit in a designated Stroke Unit. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to a patient population primarily consisting of stroke patients, along with some general medical-surgical patients. The position emphasizes teamwork and clear communication within a fast-paced environment, with a focus on enhancing patient outcomes and supporting patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs). The assignment is scheduled for dayshift hours.
Job Details
- Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Nursys license, professional licensure or certification in good standing, successful completion of a proctored rhythm test, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Additional Information: Floating between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius may be required based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Travelers will always be notified beforehand if a float assignment is necessary. The core staffing plan includes a variable staffing grid with Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
