Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit utilizing continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry oversight
- Perform IV insertion and management, as well as management of lines and drains
- Provide post-procedure care for patients following cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement or revision, and vascular surgery
- Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain communication boards in accordance with unit standards
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech (EBCD) electronic charting system
- Float to other units as required per facility floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses will not be accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or telemetry specialty experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment utilizing AIDET communication framework
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and IV drip management, including insulin, heparin, and other cardiac drips
- Proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation system
