Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, WI. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a fast-paced post-surgical unit with a focus on pre and post-operative adult and geriatric patients. The RN will work a 12-hour day shift, contributing to patient care, documentation, and team collaboration in a high-volume environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12 hour days, starting 09/21/2026 and ending 12/19/2026, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS - American Heart Association or ARC, 2+ years of Medical Surgical experience including recent hospital experience, Trauma level II experience required, Epic charting experience, and prior travel experience.
- Unit Specific Skillset: Post Surgical Care Unit post recovery after Pacu; 40-bed inpatient area providing care pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients.
- Nurse to patient ratio: Day/PM 1:4 or 5, Night 1:5-7.
- Responsibilities: Ability to multitask and prioritize patient needs based on acuity, working effectively as part of a team in a high-volume setting.
- Additional Information: The unit averages 10-15 admissions daily with a typical length of stay of 2-3 days, occupancy 90-95%. During flu season, unvaccinated staff are required to wear a mask at all times.
