Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
- Maintain patient ratios of up to 1:6/7; candidates must be comfortable with a ratio of up to 1:7
- Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
- Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
- Work collaboratively with PCTs and coordinate with remote monitor technicians overseeing telemetry
- Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN license; any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically half of total weekends)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience on a Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
- Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols
- Experience working with BiPAP equipment
