Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in an urban healthcare setting. This position involves delivering both routine and complex perioperative nursing care. The Nurse practices independently, demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of clinical situations, and collaborates effectively within the surgical team. The role requires adaptability to various surgical procedures and the ability to manage perioperative patient needs across multiple shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Multiple shifts available, with a shift length of 12 hours and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); 1 year of experience in the operating room or related surgical specialty preferred; RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license; BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications related to perioperative nursing, such as CNOR, are highly desirable.
- Additional Information: The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing patients pre- and post-surgery, administering medications and anesthesia support, monitoring intraoperative conditions, and maintaining sterile and safety protocols. The role involves documentation of patient care, educating patients and families, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
