Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Level III non-profit community hospital, with a 15-week contract for holiday coverage. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a busy, Level III trauma center, managing diverse patient populations from neonates to geriatrics, and supporting a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients.
Job Details
- Position: ER Nurse at a Level III trauma center, specialty in Emergency Room.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); minimum of 2 years of experience in a large volume Emergency Department with high acuity patients; ability to pass hospital triage test; experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage, chest tubes, arterial lines, trauma and code cases, splinting, Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP), vents, understanding of Emergency Severity Index (ESI), pediatric emergency medicine experience preferred, Point of Care Labs experience a plus.
- Patient Types: Neonate to Geriatric, including pediatric trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder.
- Additional Job Information: Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) required; flexibility for every other weekend rotation; potential for back-to-back weekends; no on-call required.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must meet all listed qualifications and successfully pass the hospital's triage test prior to triage duties.
