Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Extended assignment available through early 2027
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Support patients in a 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU) as needed
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with unit protocols and ONS certification standards
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to other units per facility float policy
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including every other weekend and 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required — must be obtained prior to start date (candidates with cert pending may be considered depending on experience)
- BLS certification required
- Epic electronic health records experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- BSN preferred
- Prior experience in hematology/oncology or stem cell transplant settings
- Completion of ONS Fundamentals may be requested by the manager depending on candidate experience level
