Job Summary:
Pharmacist Inpatient (PHARM IP) position in Ogden, Utah. This role involves working in a hospital pharmacy environment with a focus on inpatient medication management. The position operates on a 12-hour evening shift schedule, with a every-other-week pattern of 7 days on and 7 days off, providing a unique and balanced work schedule.
Job Details:
- Location: 5475 South 500 East Street, Ogden, UT 84405
- Schedule: Evening shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certification in pharmacy (State licensure as pharmacist), two years of experience in pharmacy or hospital setting preferred; no minimum experience required; location in Utah or ability to licensure in Utah.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing pharmacy technicians, proficiency with Pyxis and CIISafe systems, VigiLanz software skills highly desirable.
- Type of Equipment: Documentation systems include Meditech, DoseEdge, RXMS, BD Pyxis, and VigiLanz.
- Procedures performed on unit: Medication dispensing, clinical consultations (e.g., warfarin, vancomycin, TPN, insulin), drug information and intervention management.
- Certifications Required: BLS or ALS preferred but not required.
- Dress Code: Business casual or hospital-provided scrubs.
- Unit specifics: Pharmacy is staffed 24 hours a day with five staff pharmacists through the day shift; team includes highly experienced technicians.
- Additional Information: The department offers a dynamic clinical environment with a wide variety of services including NICU, ICU, OR, EDs, inpatient rehab, inpatient acute detox, behavioral health, and level II trauma center. The team is known for their customer-first approach, supporting nursing and physician staff effectively. The pharmacist team has a strong tenure, with many members exceeding ten years of experience. The unit also features new equipment and technology, making it an engaging work environment.
