Key Responsibilities
- Function as a float nurse, assigned to units based on staffing needs as directed by the nursing supervisor
- Provide direct patient care across a variety of acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, trauma, and observation
- Deliver care in medical comfort care, GI/surgery, nephrology, joint replacement, cardiac surgery, and other specialty settings as assigned
- Accurately document all patient care activities using Cerner EMR
- Maintain patient safety and quality care standards with patient ratios that typically run 1:6, varying by unit need
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or a valid multi-state compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses are not accepted
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required
- Ability to float to multiple units across the facility as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Experience across multiple acute care specialties (e.g., med-surg, ortho, neuro, cardiac, oncology)
- Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced float pool environment
