Job Summary:
Dialysis Nurse specializing in outpatient dialysis units in a healthcare setting. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments, including pre-, intra-, and post-treatment assessments. The position requires collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care within a 32-station outpatient dialysis unit.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week on Monday through Saturday, with every other Saturday. Work hours are from 05:00 to 17:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license in the state or a compact license, minimum of 2.5 years recent dialysis nursing experience, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, at least 3 years of experience in dialysis nursing, ability to perform dialysis treatments, and experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: CNN or CDN certification highly desired but not required.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other units/departments, with potential assignments if desired.
- Additional Information:
- Types of procedures include outpatient/chronic dialysis treatments with patient assessment before, during, and after treatments.
- Equipment utilized includes B Braun dialysis machines.
- Unit comprises 32 dialysis stations; nurse maintains care for 4 patients per shift with support from float or charge nurses.
- Orientation includes department-specific policies, water systems, dialysis equipment, and medication administration.
- The facility maintains a cancellation policy allowing up to 36 hours' notice for shift call-offs during the assignment.
- No trauma level designation.
