Setting: Adult Medical/Surgical ICU in a Level III Trauma Center
Float Requirement: Yes, primarily to Medical/Surgical units

Job Requirements

2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience required
Strong telemetry interpretation skills required
Active Massachusetts RN license required
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience in a high-acuity critical care or intensive care environment preferred
Ability to float to Med/Surg areas and adapt to varying patient assignments
Comfort working night shifts and every other weekend expectations
Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

Provide skilled, compassionate patient care to critically ill adult patients in a 20-bed ICU
Monitor and assess patients with complex diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
Interpret telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
Collaborate closely with attending physicians, residents, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Deliver care in a high-acuity environment with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, and 1:1 for higher-acuity cases
Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed while maintaining safe, effective patient care
Document accurately in EPIC and follow all unit protocols, quality standards, and clinical best practices
Support patient safety, infection prevention, and timely escalation of critical changes in condition
