Job Requirements
- 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience required
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills required
- Active Massachusetts RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience in a high-acuity critical care or intensive care environment preferred
- Ability to float to Med/Surg areas and adapt to varying patient assignments
- Comfort working night shifts and every other weekend expectations
- Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate patient care to critically ill adult patients in a 20-bed ICU
- Monitor and assess patients with complex diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- Interpret telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians, residents, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Deliver care in a high-acuity environment with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, and 1:1 for higher-acuity cases
- Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed while maintaining safe, effective patient care
- Document accurately in EPIC and follow all unit protocols, quality standards, and clinical best practices
- Support patient safety, infection prevention, and timely escalation of critical changes in condition
