Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients, interpreting ECG rhythms and responding to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Participate in required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate evaluations
- Work rotating holiday coverage, including at least every other holiday
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 months of combined permanent experience in the ICU/SICU specialty; travel experience in SICU will be considered
- Active permanent Ohio RN license or valid Compact State license in hand at time of submission
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required
- Active ACLS certification required
- Active NIHSS certification required
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (maximum of 2 attempts permitted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 18 months of SICU experience within a single location preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in an ICU or SICU environment
- Familiarity with annual hands-on competency requirements in a large health system setting
