Key Responsibilities
- Float between up to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital, including ED border patients, acute mental health (medication nurse role), and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
- Manage and administer cardiac drips in accordance with unit protocols
- Provide care for a patient population across units ranging from 8 to 41 beds, with night shift ratios of up to 6:1
- Perform TR Band experience procedures as required by unit assignment
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Travel Nurse
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation and interval measurement
- Willingness and ability to float to 8 different units as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of dedicated telemetry experience, including reading tele strips and managing cardiac drips
- TR Band experience
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Experience caring for ED border patients and non-vented ICU patients
