Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Neurology Floor nurse position located in a large hospital setting. The role involves providing patient care on a 32-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 during night shifts. Flexibility to float to any med/surg unit within multiple facilities and various shift cycles, including days and nights, is required. The position emphasizes assessment, documentation, medication administration, and the use of Epic electronic medical records.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend and holiday. Shifts may include straight days or nights, depending on unit needs.
- Required Qualifications:
- Active North Dakota (ND) or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) license (willing to obtain)
- Minimum of 2 years recent medical surgical nursing experience in a hospital with 200+ beds
- Experience working with neuro patients preferred but not required
- Epic electronic medical records experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Strong medical surgical experience, including assessments, documentation, and medication administration
- Ability to float to all units/locations within the hospital system
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Neuro experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Level 1 trauma experience
- Experience working in a large hospital environment and with Epic EMR system
- Additional Information:
- The unit is part of a healthcare provider's acute division, specializing in neurology, with potential to float across units within three facilities.
- The position involves procedures including assessments, documentation, and medication administration using equipment such as Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, and Epic EMR.
- Candidates must badge in and out at the facility, and scrub color is navy blue.
- Must note if previously employed by the healthcare provider; if so, end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission.
