- Position: Hospital Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
- Employment Type: Travel Healthcare Assignment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 - $2,450
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/5/2026
- Shift: 10-hour days, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Schedule: Rotating days with rotating weekends
- Call Requirements: Overnight call 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM, 2-3 nights per month
- Environment: Busy inpatient echocardiography lab in a high-volume hospital setting
- Location: Portland, Maine 04102
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience
- At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a trauma-level facility
- Strong proficiency with transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms
- Experience using 3D echo and strain imaging
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume, critical care environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Commitment to teamwork, feedback, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of ASE and IAC standards preferred
- Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer credential preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality echocardiographic studies that meet accreditation and lab standards
- Complete transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echo procedures as assigned
- Use advanced imaging techniques, including 3D echo and strain imaging, when appropriate
- Optimize image quality through proper scanning technique and equipment settings
- Support efficient workflow while maintaining diagnostic accuracy and patient comfort
- Document studies clearly and accurately according to department protocols
- Collaborate with cardiologists, sonographers, and other team members to ensure excellent care
- Participate in case reviews, feedback sessions, and ongoing learning opportunities
- Maintain compliance with ASE and IAC guidelines and hospital procedures
- Help provide coverage for rotating weekend shifts and scheduled overnight call
