Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Stepdown – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Highlights:
- 91-day travel assignment in a 36-bed surgical telemetry unit with a 32-patient daily census
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
- Specialized cardiac care including pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, LVAD, TAVR, and structural heart procedures
- Work with adult and geriatric populations experiencing myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, heart failure, stroke with cardiac involvement, and post-catheterization patients
- Orientation provided with 40 hours of non-billable time for module completion
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required; previous travel experience required (not accepting first-time travelers)
- Epic charting system experience is mandatory
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Surgical telemetry experience with open-heart surgery and vascular procedures (groin/radial band management) required
- Strong IV skills and experience with chest tubes, sternal precautions, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with post-operative open-heart patients (24-28 hours post-op), cardiac drip management, and cardioversion/defibrillation
- Optional but preferred: VAD and TAVR experience
- Flexibility to float to similar units as needed
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
