Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification required
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpreting EKG strips
- Experience with insulin drips preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process
- Complete ongoing assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and verify strips each shift
- Administer medications and manage common Med/Surg Tele therapies
- Care for patients with wounds, PICC lines, central lines, and wound vacs
- Support patients receiving BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nasal cannula therapy
- Manage drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin as ordered
- Collaborate with support staff, phlebotomy, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families while promoting comfort, safety, and recovery
