- Setting: Acute care progressive care environment with floating to other units as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required, with current acute care experience in the specialty
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- Telemetry experience strongly preferred
- Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Ability to safely manage peripheral IVs and maintain IV access
- Comfortable with isolation precautions and PPE practices
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients with varied acuity levels
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and changes in condition
- Administer and titrate insulin drips per protocol as directed
- Support telemetry monitoring and ongoing patient assessments
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the care team using Epic
- Assist with oxygen administration, nasal cannula support, and related respiratory needs
- Manage IV therapy, peripheral line care, and maintenance of vascular access
- Work collaboratively with rapid response and code teams when escalation is needed
- Float to different units within the organization as assigned
- Provide safe, compassionate care in a busy acute care setting
