Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- At least 1 year of RN experience required
- Critical care, stepdown, med/surg, or emergency department experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS required or obtained within required timeframe
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity, rapidly changing situations
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
- Complete comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Monitor hemodynamics and manage patients requiring advanced critical care support
- Care for patients using ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and other life-support technologies
- Assist with central line care, chest tubes, transvenous or temporary pacing, and advanced respiratory modalities
- Administer medications safely, including critical care drips and conscious sedation support when needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families while serving as a dependable resource during complex care situations
- Support quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based nursing practices
