Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a NICU setting in accordance with scope of practice and unit protocols
- Utilize Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding methodology as part of patient care delivery
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic EMR
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements, including 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period and 2 of 3 designated winter holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted with certification pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Must not have exceeded 365 total assignment days at this facility; candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers require a 1-year separation and leadership approval
- This unit does not accept local candidates — candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with specialty-specific orientation modules
