Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Neuro ICU with patient ratios of 2:1, adjusting to 1:1 or 3:1 based on acuity and staffing needs
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
- Assist with and support procedures performed on the unit including central line insertions, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Fulfill a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; participate in self-scheduling with manager oversight to balance unit coverage
- Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members in alignment with patient experience standards; float to other units including med/surg as directed by staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neuro ICU patient populations and neuro-specific monitoring equipment such as EVDs
- Familiarity with CRRT and SLED therapies
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
