Contract | Night Shift (19:00–07:00) | 13-Week Assignment | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including med/tele and cardiac overflow patients
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary and other departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Demonstrate experience and competence in drug titration
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
- Float on a rotational basis as required by unit needs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in Missouri or currently hold Missouri RN licensure
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIHSS certification — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start date
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience required
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift — must be available the entire orientation week
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for cardiac overflow and medical/telemetry patient populations
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring equipment, IV pumps, lift equipment, and tube feeding pumps
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced inpatient environment
