Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: September 14, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient assessments and provide general care including wound management, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, and support for stroke and seizure patients
- Manage post-operative patients following procedures such as amputations, ostomy, oral surgeries, and wound vac placements
- Administer and monitor Heparin drips, PCA pumps, and dialysis support as needed for the patient population
- Conduct bedside shift reports, perform safety checks every 1–2 hours, and maintain focus on communication and patient responsiveness
- Ensure 100% medication scanning including controlled substances, and adhere to HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring
- Participate in fall prevention initiatives and maintain compliance with attendance and unit policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- NIHSS certification required
- Proficiency with Meditech documentation system
- Ability to fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block and willingness to float over core staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience operating PD Cyclers, Alaris IV Pumps, Hoyer Lifts, and Welch Allyn VS Carts
- Familiarity with chest tube management and wound vac therapy
- Experience in a high-acuity Medical Surgical unit with a diverse post-operative patient population
