Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Cardiac Med-Surg (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week with 3–4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period | Expected 48 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Cardiac Med-Surg unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor and manage patients via telemetry (airstrip monitoring system); perform EKG rhythm identification
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem and heparin; manage non-titratable drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, and amiodarone
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a free charge nurse, unit secretary (day shift), and PCTs
- Participate in floating rotation with other travel nurses as needed per unit policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in Tennessee
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Telemetry certification and EKG/cardiac rhythm identification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with cardiac medications and drip management
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with GE telemetry systems and bedside monitoring equipment
- Background in cardiac or stepdown nursing environments
