Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 or 26 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Expected 36–48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in an intensive care unit setting during night shift hours
- Perform clinical assessments and interventions in accordance with NICU standards of practice
- Utilize infant-driven feeding protocols, including Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding certification
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Document patient care activities accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including weekend rotations and holiday coverage as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding certification required (may be pending at time of submission)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required with submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN degree preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with infant-driven feeding protocols and neonatal assessment techniques
