Contract | 12-Hour Shifts (Mid Shift Options: 0630–1900, 0730–2000, 0930–2200, 1130–2400, 1430–0300, 1830–0700) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing 40–160 patients per day across a 26-bed unit with a 5-bed fast track area
- Manage patient ratios of 3:1 to 4:1, including adult and pediatric populations ranging from minor complaints to major trauma (Level 2 Trauma Center)
- Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently at the RN monitor station; no monitor techs on unit
- Perform all lab draws; no IV team on site
- Utilize Cerner FirstNet EMR for documentation and patient management
- Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 3–5 years of previous Emergency Department experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a STEMI or CVA receiving center environment
- Familiarity with Cerner FirstNet EMR
- Experience caring for diverse, high-acuity patient populations including trauma, psychiatric, and medically complex patients
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with ventilated patients and varied acuity levels
