Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Weekends and holidays expected | Expected 72 hours biweekly (not including on-call time)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit during 12-hour night shifts
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias for assigned patients
- Administer and manage medications in accordance with unit protocols
- Float to like units and overflow areas as needed to support staffing demands
- Apply knowledge of critical paths to guide patient care planning and coordination
- Pass required ECG/Telemetry and Medication competency exams prior to assignment start (85% passing score, one attempt only)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical Telemetry experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- Current AHA ACLS Certification required
- Must pass Telemetry Competency Exam (ECG/Dysrhythmia and Medication tests) via remote proctored session within 48 hours of offer; 85% passing score, no remediation or re-sit available
- Flu vaccination required as part of compliance
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Documented professional development activities
- Familiarity with critical path methodology in an acute care setting
